For my final project in Global Business Environment, we were assigned the role of an intern for an international venture capital (VC) fund located in New York City. Our assignment was to conduct the initial research for a possible opportunity for a new business, and to prepare a report for the managers of the VC fund. Alongside my partner Kenny, we researched Tableau in Japan.
After researching the industry and country, we concluded that Tableau should continue to expand Japan. To showcase our findings, Ww created a 5 minute long presentation for our managers.
Reflection
If I was to improve this project, I would choose a different software to present our findings on, like Keynote or iMovie. However, we opted to present on Powerpoint so that it would be compatible with all of our classmate and teacher's computers.
From this project, I was able to strengthen my research skills and dive deeper into a different culture. Because the Big Data industry is increasingly growing, it was a very fun experience to imagine the possibilities of the industry entering another market.
